what about the bishop amat boys team... Aaron Mireles is looking pretty good this year... all area nominee?
missed this thread the first time around, so let me jump in.
Walnut lost some solid players last year, but they do every year and still manage to be competitive. If you want to talk about dominating teams, every year since they have been in this league the girls soccer team has either won it outright or had a share of the title. That's impressive. With Walnut going to a new league next year I really hope they can finish with another title.
I am really looking forward to the South Hills' games since they won't be around next year.
LA life --
the LA girls team lost in the second round. Still not a finalist.
Their boys team was very good last year. One of the better teams in the Wilson Tournament last season.
Bonita? I don't see them on the top ten list? JV means nothing when the players are on JV, but last year's best JV players will be moving up to varsity.
Wasn't Bonita good at Girls Soccer like 5 or 6 years ago? I'd love to see Bonita Boys play Ganesha's Boys-now that would be a mismatch!
Well,
Kurmugun is referring to the Girls team! The LA boy's team will be very good this year! They will be returning all of their starting defense and all of their top mid-fielders. Should be a very interesting season.
How much talent is actually out there? With the Academy League running concurrent aren't most of the top players not eligible to play H.S. Soccer? Most of the Varsity teams I've seen in SGV seem to be along the lines of a AYSO Allstar Team.

Los Altos was not a finalist in their division. They lost in the first round.
However, they were very strong last season. I was suprised by their score vs. Mayfair. I saw both teams play in the Wilson Tournament and Los Altos looked quite a bit better.
the best part about the soccer rankings is that record counts more that in other sports (such as football). Wins carry more weight than percieved league strength.
Hey G High, beat Bonita then get on the blog. J.V. means nothing.
Over the last few years several girls teams, and also some boys teams, have had new soccer coaches. Look for some of those teams that are on their third or fourth year with a coach to be making a name this year now that the coach has been able to apply their tactics, just like football guys.
Soccer is always fun, but to tell you the truth, I was never a big fan of the game until last year.
I think that what makes this game so special is that so many of the schools which are not so good in football, often make a big turn arounds in soccer. Take Sierra Vista and Mountin view for example. These two schools would'nt even make it on the football map, but when it comes to scoccer, look out !
You know, what makes this game even more ironic is the fact that so many of the same kids who play on the football teams, also play on the soccer teams.
I know that as a Lancer, I cant wait for our rematch against La Puente. I haven't forgot last year....Gerrr
08 division finalist, Miramonte league champion Los Altos returning solid core of experience and hot frosh and soph additions for another run at honors. Should do well.
A few of the SGV's finest soccer players will be playing with their club teams until Mid December (Far West Regional League & National League) After that look out for some Freshmen Stars to emerge. South El Monte has a Gem of a player, and I don't think they even know what he is capable of doing for them. Both Duarte and South Hills will have some huge suprises added on late in the season.
Last year's San Dimas JV team was outstanding and their Varsity should be very strong this year. By the end of the year they should be in the top five of this list.
