Davis Cazares is an amazing football player. He and the rest of the Amat football team make me proud to go to this school.

To blog posters like "other players", Why would you request another subject when that post is about a particular player or school? If you dont like what you are reading, then dont read it. go somewhere else. Im tired of bloggers like you always crying about Amat and its players getting to much attention. Maybe if your school did something they would get some press. Im not from Amat, but I do appreciate what they have done and what they are doing.
This Davis Cazares is something special and if you are a football fan you would also appreciate him. no matter what school you back.

The kid is awesome no doubt, but maybe they should have professionals doing these videos instead of uncle frank holding a camcorder.

How about you do something on other defense players in the valley instead of always talking about Amat?

this kid davis is on hell of a player....has been kicking a$$ this year soo far. Only played half of last season cuz of a torn hamstring but he healed up that's for sure....kid could hit.

That kid is a chip off the o'l block. His dad was an all Angelus League linebacker but the younger Cazares is a player is dad should be proud off!

Someone said that finally the defence is getting noticed. I don't know about what anyone else has been watching but I have been saying this all season.

As for Davis Casares, this kid is probably one of the best kids I have ever met in every way. Coaches dream, what an understatement. To put young Ruis in the same sentence is a joke, great kid, but not even close.
Lastly, I just hope the boys don't bring the same game as they did last week because we will have a long ride home. They keep finding a way to win and I hope they can continue. My feeling as much as hate to say it, it's bound to catch up to them. I really wish them wellin every way.

Didn't mean Ruiz so much on defense as he was a factor on offense. He is much better on that side of the ball but still plays very well on defense.

I saw this kid on one of the Amat video's from last year and knew this kid would be one of Amats impact players, I saw him at the Bonita passing tournament this summer and he did not look very big but on this video and in pads he looks bigger and very physical, outstanding player!

Amat 73 - Agreed there are alot of guys on this team that come to play every game but D. Cazares is the heart and soul of this Defensive Unit. I think Big Daddy Kane is having to work hard every night because teams show him much respect with double teams and group blocking, that's what happens when you cause turmoil for the offenses. Ruiz is a talented player but defensively he has had nowhere near the impact that Cazares has. The next few years will probably be alive with Ruiz topics but as far as this year goes...it's all about the Cazares kid. This guy just flat out comes to play game in and game out. I'm with you AmatLancers - Davis Cazares - Defensive player of the Year!

Cazares is one of many talented players I mentioned on another thread. He came up big in our game against Loyola . The spotlight hits a few players but this team is loaded with talent, #42 along with Ruiz , Big Daddy Kane to name a few just keep getting better each week. Keep up the good work and bring the wood with you on Friday because we will need it all against a very good Crespi team.

Davis is an absolute stud. Truly awesome and entertaining to watch him play in person. If there is such an award I'd vote for him hands down SGV Defensive Player of the Year!

Besides that he preped at Kare Youth League in Covina, theY teach tackle football at age 6 or first grade. So that would make this his 12th year of football! Anyway, his is a phenom and a lights out player!

It's about time that a Defensive player got some love in the press. The Defense deserves more credit for this teams success because without this defensive unit Amat is not 8-0. Davis is an outstanding player and more importantly and great kid. Talk about a coaches dream player. Focused, aggressive, under control and disciplined. By the way...He is the product of proud Dad and Class of 82 Alum MARK Cazares, who by the way, was an outstanding linebacker in his own right for the '80-'81 and '81 -'82 Lancer Football Teams. Knowing his Pops and watching Davis do his thing, it's not hard to tell who has taught this kid to play ball. Keep it up Big D, the next level awaits. Go Big Blue!

This player is truly gifted as a defender. Whoever taught this kid to play and tackle/hit like that, my compliments to you coach, whoever you are. He truly let it all out for people to see in that St. Paul game. When that receiver from St. Paul came accross the middle and got hit by Davis his helmet was knocked off on impact and rolled 10 feet. That was one the best hits I have seen coming from a HS player. Darian Johnson, Jerry McClanahan and Jay Anderson get alot of praise for Amats success but this Davis kid has really opened my eyes and lots of others that there is that 4th Star there at Amat. Keep up the good work Davis, now go rock someone from Crespi Friday nite. #42 is always somewhere around the tackle if he is not making it himself. Watch and enjoy this kid can play.

I think Mike's his dad. Hey, let's hope this can STAY about Cazares and not morph into something else as often happens on this blog! He deserves this recognition and I would hate for others to come on and start popping off about some fairy tale! Let's go Amat!
