Auto Club Finals: Wilkerson finds the groove

They just completed Saturday's first Funny Car session, and fan-favorite Tim Wilkerson had the best performance, running a steady 4.08-second run on a hot and slick track. Other steady efforts were turned in my Jack Beckman, who ran a 4.14, and Gary Densham, Del Worsham and Jerry Toliver, who all rand 4.15s.
"I just made some mistakes with the tuneup the past two days," Wilkerson said. "We're just playing catchup. I'm proud of my guys."
